CONSERVATION LEADERSHIP SERIES (CLS) PARTICIPANT

GEOSPATIAL SERVICES INTERN AT SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT

  • Supported internship coordinators and senior project managers by developing maps identifying geographic characteristics according to client specifications.


  • Configure and maintain geodatabases, shapefiles, and raster datasets while performing queries on ArcMap desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS online.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TROPICS WITH CIEE

June 2019 — July 2019 | Costa Rica

  • Fulfilled 4-week study abroad program that explored economic development between the environment and society through community engagement and excursions to points of interest. 


  • Composed a grant proposal for the Palito Fisher’s Association in the Island of Chira to buy supplies for a solar cooker to increase energy efficiency. Proposal was submitted to the UN Small Grants Program.


  • Examined different agricultural methods utilized in the region to determine which farming examples could be implemented in the region to encourage sustainable production.


  • Discussed opportunities and threats with local stakeholders to evaluate the changes seen from the community perspective and consider the possible outcomes of development in Monteverde, Costa Rica.
